PARKERSBURG — The holiday season is about to get a whole lot more artistic in Parkersburg as the Parkersburg Art Center and the PAC 713 Market host the annual Holiday Artist Market and Open House from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

The event promises an array of original arts and crafts for sale, making it the ideal destination for those on the hunt for unique holiday gifts, Managing Director Jessie Siefert said. This year, the Art Center galleries will feature new and established vendors and a few selling food items.

Joining the festivities this year are Lynda Rhodes with watercolors, Valley Girl Glass, JE Creations with pottery, Forget Me Knots Macrame, Sun and Moon Oddity Shop, Leopard Leotard, Lilahbloom Jewelry, Melony Gingery Art, Fickle Cat with candles and ornaments, Dorsey Northrup Art, Cathy Norosky, Virginia Killian, Royally Baked, DJ’s Sweet Creations and Pancho Picante with sauces and spice mixes.

The PAC 713 Market also will be open and feature the work of more than 70 artists represented by the store.

Pancho Picante will have its food truck set up from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. so visitors can enjoy lunch while they shop. Some inside seating available for dining.

A new feature this year is the addition of the Vinyl Remix artwork. Regional artists took old albums and painted them, warped them, and turned them into clocks, among other things. Items will be on display and for sale with funds benefiting the Art Center roof repair.

“We’re thrilled to host the Holiday Artist Market and Open House once again,” Siefert said. “It’s a chance for the community to come together, support local artists and find truly special gifts for the holiday season.”

In addition to the Artist Market, the Artist Trees will be unveiled on Saturday. Each of the 20 trees are adorned in the distinctive styles of famous and not-so-famous artists. From bold brushstrokes reminiscent of Van Gogh to the avant-garde flair of Picasso, the “Artist Tree” Exhibit invites visitors to experience the holidays in a new way. The trees will remain on display 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday through Dec. 22.

WEYBURN – The hallways, art galler and Legacy Park gym were filled with a steady stream of patrons to take in the 10^th annual Gifted Winter Art Market at the Credit Union Spark Centre on Nov. 18.

There were over 40 vendors set up, using the Weyburn Art Gallery, multi-purpose rooms and the gym in Legacy Park school, and people were able to park and enter from either the main parking lot or the Legacy Park parking lot to see the market.

The Weyburn Arts Council received many applications from prospective vendors.

The Arts Council carefully adjudicated and hand-selected each vendor, which allowed them to bring the best of the best and eliminate overlap in products being offered.
