HAVERHILL — The Haverhill Art Walk returns to the downtown Riverfront Cultural District on Saturday, Sept. 30, from 1 to 7 p.m. highlighting underutilized spaces and local businesses with an alleyway artist market, live music, a “Pub Walk” and more.
Family-friendly programming in Columbus Park (Railroad Square) from 1 to 5 p.m. includes hula hooping, an interactive paint tent with mural artist Kevin Angulo, music by Fake Leather Jacket, and a Drag Queen Story Hour with Dottie Ave.
Get an early start on holiday shopping from 1 to 4 p.m. at Stem, 124 Washington St., with the M&S Candle Company pop-up. Stop by The Winged Rabbit, 53 Wingate St., from 1 to 6 p.m. to meet fused-glass artist Andrea Stoehr. Down the block, Sketches and Drips at 21 Wingate St. reaches youth with arts and crafts activities from 1 to 4 p.m.
Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with Mariachi, Tango and Salsa music in Washington Square performed by live bands. Salsa dancing is from 5 to 7 p.m. with emcee Eridania Nieves.
Array of Trades will present an artist market and live acoustic music from 2 to 6 p.m. in alleyways along Washington Street.
Various gallery exhibitions and pop-ups will take place throughout the day. SJ Art Consulting at 43 Washington St. invites the community in for an artist reception for Erica Licea-Kane’s exhibition, “From One to the Other,” from 3 to 6 p.m.
The Beyond Walls Mural project will be featured with a walking tour beginning at 3 p.m. at the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Haverhill, 55 Emerson St., which is one of the mural locations. Live music is at 4 p.m. at the club. The Buttonwoods Museum returns with an Italian Heritage Walking Tour at 4:30 p.m. highlighting the Italian architecture of Washington Street. An Essex Art Center pop-up exhibition is from 1 to 6 p.m. at 90 Washington St.
Newly opened Crusttown at 150 Washington St. will have a community mural project from 1 to 7 p.m. that is open to all and highlights a recently installed mural by Marc Mannheimer and Brian Alves.
The Pub Walk takes place from 4 to 7 p.m. and includes The Peddler’s Daughter, Keon’s, The Tap, Casa Blanca and G’s hosting pop-ups and demonstrations by local artists. G’s, at 35 Washington St., will also host the 6 p.m. Destination Downtown Toast.
