The Missoula Art Museum is inviting Indigenous artists and descendants to submit art for an exhibition on Montana’s Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives.

Great Falls native Rachel Allen is the juror of the exhibition and will serve as the museum’s first Indigenous guest curator.

“With this position, we hope to forge new opportunities for Indigenous museum professionals and leadership in the arts while fostering new relationships, continually build the museum’s knowledge and that of our audience,” the museum said in a statement. “This is something we hope to continue annually.”

The Missoula Art Museum does not require enrollment status or blood quantum from artists submitting their work.

The deadline to submit art is Jan. 5. The exhibition will open May 3 and run through Sept. 7.
