MOUNT DESERT ISLAND — Artificial intelligence (AI) is a tool that can be used for both good or bad purposes and requires ethical choices. Internationally known photographer Mark Hemmings will talk about the ethical use of artificial intelligence in photography on Tuesday, Dec. 12, at 6:30 p.m. The online Zoom presentation is hosted by the Mount Desert Island Photo Club and open to the public.
Recent advances in AI vastly expand the ability of photographers to modify their photos. For example, one can take a photo of a person in their bedroom and replace the bedroom background with a street scene from Paris pulled off the internet or conjure up photographs of people and places one has never seen by using keywords in an AI program. Hemmings will help photographers make those choices and offer use-cases and example tutorials to improve the efficiency of their photography workflow.
