A volunteer effort is underway to grow a veterans-inspired memorial park on Dayton’s west side. Wright Dunbar Inc. is fundraising for a new Medal of Honor Memorial to be erected near the existing sculpture of the 1905 Wright Flyer III at the entrance to the Wright Dunbar historic neighborhood. The new Medal of Honor Memorial would honor the approximately 40 Dayton-area residents to have received the Medal of Honor.
