Family and friends of a well-known area sports photographer are asking for your help after he suffered a serious medical emergency last week. Dan Cruz discovered an injury to his spine after taking photographs at a basketball game last week. The next day he was taken to the ER and later a hospital in St. Louis where the issue was discovered, and surgery was performed.
According to information in a GoFundMe page post, Dan is recovering but faces extensive rehab at a facility that specializes in spinal cord injuries. Dan has been a regular for years in shooting sports photos at Civic Memorial High School and other schools in the Riverbend and has also contributed to content for Big Z Media.
