DALLAS (KCTV) – A Dallas police report outlines what an injured photographer said happened inside a club during an after hours party early Monday morning.
Police released the incident report to KCTV5 three days after the Dallas Morning News and WFAA linked Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice to the reported assault inside the club. KCTV5 has not been able to independently confirm those details and the redacted police report does not publicly identify anyone involved in the incident.
According to the police report, officers responded to a disturbance call around 3:30 a.m. on May 6.
The man who filed the complaint identified himself as a photographer. He told officers that he left Lit Kitchen and Lounge for an after hours party and left around 1:30 a.m.
Rashee Rice Legal Issues
The photographer told police the man, that the Dallas Morning News and WFAA identified as Rice, sent him a message on Instagram as he drove away from the club. The photographer said Rice asked him to return to the club, which he did.
Rice asked the photographer to look at his phone, according to the police report. The photographer told officers that he believed Rice wanted to hire him to take pictures.
The photographer said Rice punched him in the left side of his face as he looked down at the cell phone. The incident report said the photographer suffered an “apparent minor injury” and experienced “swelling on the jaws.”
The remainder of the incident report is redacted.
A spokesperson for the Dallas Police Department also told KCTV5 the department does not identify any suspects unless they are charged with a crime. At this point, charges have not been filed in the assault case.
