Center for Photography at Woodstock Opens Exhibition of New Work by :
KINGSTON — The Center for Photography at Woodstock (CPW) is pleased to announce the opening of an important solo exhibition by renowned Rhinebeck photographer Adrianna Ault. The exhibition, titled “Levee: Photographs by Adrianna Ault,” debuts a new body of work, as well as a new publication by the artist, and will be on view at CPW, 474 Broadway, Kingston, from January 13 through March 17.
Players will be able to photograph the animals of San Andreas and its surrounding wilderness in new Daily Challenges.
As we kick off a new year of Grand Theft Auto Online, it’s time to grab your camera and check the tourist boards if you want to get in on the game’s latest challenges and rewards. Wildlife photography has come to the Daily Challenges in GTA Online. What’s more, if you take part in taking pictures of San Andreas and Los Santos critters, you’ll unlock the new Park Ranger vehicle and can even unlock Trade Price for it through the new photography challenge.
Rockstar Games announced the new wildlife photography challenges and Park Ranger vehicle in the latest Rockstar Newswire post this week. Starting now, players can visit the Los Santos Tourist Board in Blaine County and find out which animals tourists are looking to see. Once you have the info, you can track down and photograph three animals a day to submit as part of a new Daily Collectible. Accomplishing just one of the wildlife photography challenges will open up the opportunity to purchase the new Park Ranger vehicle. Finishing up 10 challenges will unlock its Trade Price, which allows you to acquire the vehicle more easily and cheaply.
Wildlife photography is an interesting new bend on content for Grand Theft Auto Online to kick off 2024. Where last year had us waging war with gasoline moguls and drug cartels to dominate illegal business in the game, wildlife photography seems like a tame and relaxing aside to the chaos. What’s more, the Park Ranger looks like it will be a solid addition to offroad options in any player’s garage, being that it’s built to handle the rough and tumble terrain of woods and wasteland.
There’s plenty of further bonus events and activities to explore with the arrival of the wildlife photography challenges, including bonus GTA$ and RP on races, new payphone hits and salvage yard robberies, and more. Be sure to stay tuned to our GTA Online topic for further coverage on the game.
It was a monumental year of soccer, one the Cincinnati Soccer Talk Photo Team captured in vivid detail. Our team of 10 volunteer photographers covered 46 total matches, which included FC Cincinnati, FCC2, and the U.S. Men’s & Women’s National Teams. These annual awards are to recognize the work they did.
This year, we have three (3) recognitions to share. The first recognition goes to an individual who provided significant coverage of FCC2. This individual was voted on by colleagues and CST listeners. The 2023 CST Award for FCC2 Coverage goes to Megan Lee!
The next recognition is for a CST Photographer who captured a memorable moment. The winning image, which was selected by our Photo Team Coordinator, was captured on June 21st, 2023. The image captures a wide shot of TQL Stadium and 25,513 fans from the top of the Bailey as Luciano Acosta’s goal in the 54th minute sailed past the diving Toronto FC Goalkeeper. The 2023 CST Award for Best Image goes to Scott Huck!
Our final CST Photo Team Award was created last year. It’s an award named after Cincinnati Soccer Talk’s first photographer, Alex Vehr, and was created to recognize and give special thanks to a photographer who has provided a significant amount of their time and energy to deliver stunning imagery. This year’s award winner delivered imagery from 16 events. Their stamina and passion provided imagery of Supporters’ Groups marching through Washington Park to TQL Stadium; imagery of fans celebrating in the Bailey or voicing their disapproval of referee decisions; and imagery of the Orange & Blue in action on the pitch. It was this photographer’s first year contributing to Cincinnati Soccer Talk and we feel very fortunate to have had them as a part of our Team. The 2023 Alex Vehr Honorary Award goes to Brian Mack!

Wandering amidst jumble shops and antique stores, vintage holes-in-the-wall, and flea markets, I always find myself lingering by the boxes of old photographs. There’s both a specificity and universality to these people who’ve been captured in time, frozen within a rectangle that, against all odds, has wound up in my palm. I’m far from alone in my fascination with old photographs and the anonymous figures and moments they preserve. I’ve previously spoken with multi-media artist Stan Squirewell who reworks archival photos from the 1900s with various collage techniques. Squirewell sees his pieces as bestowing a new life and legacy to those otherwise gone. “I’m always intrigued by the aspect of actually bringing forth things from the past,” he told me.
Painter Jessica Brilli aims to do the same.
We all have similar exposure to images that evoke nostalgic feelings. These images tap into similar experiences and memories, like an unspoken language that can bridge individual experiences from the broader cultural context.

Brilli is preoccupied with nostalgia and how it can be portrayed visually through her paintbrush. After gathering 35mm Kodachrome slides and old photographs while traveling around the United States, she felt compelled to start painting them. “I view thousands of slides and photos to find the ones that move me emotionally,” she shares on her website. “I’m constantly on the hunt for photos that mirror scenes from my childhood or that I feel a connection to through personal or familial experience.”
Through this creative process, Brilli has found that many of her feelings surrounding these nostalgic images strike a chord with others. “My experiences are part of a common thread that many Americans share regardless of age, race, and gender,” she writes. “The images that produce a flood of involuntary memories for me often evoke similar cascades of feelings and thoughts in others. Why is this?” Brilli isn’t necessarily interested in answering this question but instead poses it tenderly with a discerning curiosity that guides her work.
Her paintings also explore the effect of color on memory. “When looking at vintage photography, I see the color as a built-in time stamp,” she elaborates. “Different types of film age in various ways because of unstable color dyes— the faded color scheme adds a Gestalt effect that evokes these nostalgic feelings.” As such, the carefully considered color palettes Brilli works with mirror and experiment with these same hues, conjuring warmth and sentimentality.
Something of a retro aesthetics obsessive myself, I quickly became immersed in the patina-soaked world of Brilli’s work upon first discovering her; I reached out directly to learn more. Brilli’s responses to my questions are below.
When did you first embark upon the process of painting from old Kodachrome slides and photographs? What initially sparked this project?
I had been painting vintage objects like typewriters and radios. I started collecting 35mm slides and photographs as an artistic exploration and soon realized they are also tangible artifacts. Photographs are also objects that carry unique narratives, emotions, and layers of history, and I wanted to capture and convey these complex moments that had been frozen in time.
Can you describe how it feels when you come upon a source image that speaks to you in such a way that compels you to paint it?
If the image resonates with me, it can be a visceral experience, going beyond the visual appeal. That emotional spark is a part of visual recognition. Sometimes, that spark has complex layers that are difficult to explain, and you want to explore and convey them to others.
What is it about retro aesthetics that you’re drawn to? Have you always had an affinity for that vintage look and feel?
I’ve always been drawn to retro aesthetics, not as a particular fondness for the past, but more the clean and simple designs of some vintage objects, particularly if there is a timeless elegance. The simplicity means less visual clutter, allowing each element to stand out.
You masterfully use color and shadow in your paintings— what’s your process like for nailing down your color palette for a given painting?
Thank you. I’d like to think that I’ve developed a deep understanding of the nuances of color, light, and shadow over time. I don’t let something go out of the studio unless I’m happy with it and it has the right look and feel.

GTA Online always has something going on to keep the players invested in the game. The new year has just started, and Rockstar Games has brought back the Wildlife Photography Challenge, where players are required to click pictures of certain animals to unlock rewards. However, many players don’t know how to start this challenge as the developers are often unclear with the instructions.
Since this challenge is only available for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S players, the ones on PC or other consoles will not be able to start the event or unlock the prizes.
Well, if you are on PS5 or Xbox Series X/S and are looking for a way to participate in the photography challenge, then you simply need to follow this guide. In this, we will tell you where to go, how to trigger the event, and how to unlock a specific vehicle related to this event in the game.

Before starting the event, players will receive an email with details about the challenge. However, if you overlooked this email and don’t know where to go, then there is no need to fret. To start the challenge, hop onto your vehicle in GTA Online and go to the Chiliad Mountain State Wilderness.
You will also see a purple camera icon on the map at this location. At the start of the muddy road that leads deeper into the forest, you will need to interact with the notice board right beside the path. This will show you the list of animals that need to be photographed for that day.
Since this is a daily event and the animals will keep refreshing, you can visit the board to take a look at the new list. You can also purchase the new Declasse Park Ranger in GTA Online for the ultimate Mount Chiliad Wildlife Photographer experience. However, you must photograph at least one animal before it unlocks on the Warstock and Cache’s website.
The pictures can be clicked through your phone’s camera, and you get around $20k for each picture, alongside some RP. Clicking 10 pictures throughout the event will unlock the Park Ranger outfit in the wardrobe along with the Trade price of the new car in GTA Online.
It is a cool event for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S players because Rockstar Games recently added animals to the free-roam mode for these consoles. So, the option to explore the wildlife further and obtain rewards for photographing them is a great way to keep the community invested.
The ongoing GTA Online weekly update has also brought several other discounts and double/triple XP events that offer a great chance for everyone to make good money while having lots of fun in the online multiplayer.

Francoise Bornet, who was captured by the French photographer Dosineau in the photograph, recently passed away at the age of 93 but remains forever immortalised as a young lover in the picture.

The famous photo was clicked in the 20th century, in postwar times, outside a hotel in Paris where two young lovers were seen in each other’s embrace kissing passionately. This photograph later became the romantic symbol of love in Paris.
At the time when this photograph was clicked, Bornet was a 20-year-old drama student who was simply enjoying the days of young romance in Paris with her then-boyfriend Jacques Carteaud. Doisneau spotted the couple in a cafe and was already on a mission to capture a series of photos illustrating love in Paris for the American magazine Life.
Bornet later told French TV, “He said, ‘I’m Robert Doisneau, I find you both charming and wondered if you would accept to kiss again in front of my camera.’” They took several photos with him in different loications of Paris.
Last year, Bornet, living in Normandy told La Dépêche d’Évreux: “I was with my boyfriend. We couldn’t stop kissing. We were kissing all over the place, all the time. Robert Doisneau was in the bar, he asked us to pose for him.”
Doisneau was all open about having the photo being staged rather than clicked like a random one. He was lauded for his ability to compose and capture a scene so expressively. He died in 1994.
When the photo was published in Life magazine, it didn’t catch much attention. But it had a revival in the 1980s when it was transformed into posters and postcards capturing the romance of Paris, followed by a frenzy of merchandise from duvet covers to shower curtains, calendars and mugs.
By the time the photo became popular, Bornet married another man after separating from Carteaud and also married him later. In 2005, she sold a copy of the original photo given to her by Doisneau, which was bought at auction and fetched the then very high sum of more than €150,000 ($164,244).
