Every year thousands of giant spider crabs come into Port Phillip Bay, Mornington Peninsula, in Victoria, Australia, for their annual moult. They shed their exoskeletons, then double in size while their new shell hardens over the next couple of days. During this time they are vulnerable to predators, so they gather tightly in large numbers to reduce the risk of being eaten
