Sitting among her pieces of art on display at the Waxahachie Farmers Market, Victoria Garcia is completing a portrait of a cat while her mother, Alma Villarreal, is working on a landscape.

“This is very relaxing, and I really enjoy the many art crafts that I work on,” said Garcia, a sixth-year art education teacher at Walnut Grove Middle School in Midlothian. Her artwork includes handmade bead necklaces, different pottery items, paintings, and drawings.
