’Tis the season for giving and gratitude, reflection and resolution, chocolate and peppermint, all in moderation and all with intention. Here in the North Country, mostly removed from the hubbub commercialization of the holidays, we’re exposed instead to the kindness of strangers, the generosity of neighbors, and the spirit of togetherness.
While Mother Nature and her archnemesis Global Warming have not yet tucked us under a white blanket for a long winter’s nap, local businesses are showing up and making adjustments with both adjusted hours and increased offerings. On top of that, New Year’s Eve will be extraordinary with many options that include but are not limited to a NYE Party at the Tamarack Grill at Burke Mountain, First Night North in downtown St Johnsbury, Brighton Recreation’s First Day Adventures at the Northwoods Stewardship Center in West Charleston, and a three-day celebration with activities for adults and families at the Omni Mount Washington Resort in Bretton Woods. Several local restaurants are offering celebratory menus with elevated menu items, oysters Rockefeller yum yum, and reservations are suggested at many eateries to assist with preparations and ensure accommodations. Don’t delay, call for New Year’s Eve dinner reservations today!
