The 31st annual Indian Market and Festival returns to the Eiteljorg June 24-25. The celebration of Native cultures will feature more than 120 Native American and Canadian artists as well as music, dance and food.

Visitors can shop for items including jewelry, pottery, paintings, beadwork, weavings and carvings and enjoy music, storytelling and dance performances. “Expressions of Life: Native Art in North America” will also be on exhibit in the Eiteljorg’s reimagined Native American Galleries.
“Since its inception in 1993, the annual Eiteljorg Museum Indian Market and Festival has grown in stature to become one of the top Native American art markets in the country, as well as a must-do event on the downtown Indianapolis summer calendar,” said Alisa Nordholt-Dean, vice president for public programs and Beeler family director of education at the Eiteljorg. “Artists, performers and thousands of market-goers and art buyers have come together at the Eiteljorg to celebrate Native arts and cultures.”
Many of the artists will have entered their artwork into that weekend’s juried art competition. In order to show and sell their art at the festival, artists must be enrolled members of a federal or state-recognized tribe.
