The Morrison Hotel Gallery Mick Rock Exhibit, Los Angeles
The collected works of the late, great music photographer Mick Rock are the focus of a new exhibit at The Morrison Hotel Gallery, which exists as a living archive of the collected works of more than 125 of the most renowned music photographers around the world.
Scheduled to be on display through Feb. 11, this exclusive gallery features some truly spectacular photos taken by Rock, who passed way in Nov. 21 at 72 years of age.
Over the years, Rock built a legacy for his uncanny portraits of some truly iconic artists, most of which are represented at this exhibit.
In the build-up to the 66th Grammy Awards on Feb. 4 from Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, the Morrison Hotel Gallery — located right inside the front doors of the legendary Sunset Marquis hotel — hosted Rock’s photos for all to see at a Grammy party on Feb. 1, including snapshots of David Bowie, Queen, Lou Reed, Debbie Harry, Iggy Pop, Lenny Kravitz, Miley Cyrus, Lana Del Rey and many more.

Outside by the pool at the Sunset Marquis, blues/rock bands Tyler Bryant and the Shakedown and Larkin Poe performed — with Larkin Poe doing so under a torrential downpour, and also under the watchful eye of Lou Reed (as captured through Mick Rock’s camera lens years ago):
This poolside party performance was a warm-up of sorts for Larkin Poe, which won its first Grammy on Sunday, with Blood Harmony taking home the trophy for Best Contemporary Blues Album.
