Join the Prairie Arts Center for this fun, exploratory printing class that will teach you how to use fresh botanicals to create prints. Assorted leaves and flowers will be inked and pressed to make original compositions. They provide all necessary supplies, but feel free to bring in your own gathered leaves and flowers for that special touch. Pre-pressed botanicals that aren’t completely dry work best. Instructor Bianca Ferreira is an artist and designer in Stillwater with a passion for printmaking. Bianca likes to dabble in all arts but excels most in printmaking, illustration and graphic design. They received a BFA in Studio Arts from the University of New Mexico, which is where they fell in love with printmaking—especially lithography. Bianca was selected to work in collaboration with student printers at Tamarind Institute of Lithography during their senior year. Their work was subsequently exhibited in the Tamarind Gallery’s exhibition, Excavation: A Tamarind Student Exhibition.
