EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — On Saturday, the historic Sunset Heights Neighborhood hosted its 19th Annual Tour of Homes offering visitors a glimpse into the captivating history of seven historic homes.

Hal Marcus Gallery, located at 1308 N. Oregon Street hosted an exclusive pop-up art market featuring local artists’ works for visitors touring the homes.

Established in 1901, Sunset Heights stands as one of the nation’s earliest master-planned communities.

This neighborhood boasts a wealth of history and distinctive architectural designs.

The 19th Annual Tour of Homes provided a unique opportunity for the community to explore El Paso’s most historically significant neighborhood, showcasing meticulously preserved and renovated homes that offer a distinctive urban living experience in the heart of downtown.

The Woman’s Club of El Paso – 1400 N. Mesa

The Sunset Heights Neighborhood Improvement Association, in organizing this event, showcased the architectural heritage and historical significance of this charming neighborhood.

Proceeds from the tour supported ongoing efforts to restore and enhance the neighborhood’s integrity.

Sunset Heights stands among the earliest planned neighborhoods in the United States.

Many of its homes date back to the early 1900s and boast renowned architects such as Henry C. Trost, Edward Kneezel, and Mabel Welch according to organizers.

Funds raised from this event contribute to the Sunset Neighborhood Improvement Association’s mission to continually restore and enhance the neighborhood’s character and appeal.
