In a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it collaboration moment, Design Within Reach (DWR) partnered with Knoll Textiles to showcase limited-edition Knoll chairs upholstered in fabrics from the Nick Cave Collection in celebration of NYCxDesign 2023. The 12 pieces were on display at DWR’s Greene Street location for a week last month before being auctioned off through Wright auction house to their lucky new owners. The cherry on top is the artist’s signature on each chair.
Proceeds benefitted Cave’s charity, the Facility Foundation, which provides scholarships and opportunities for young, promising, and emerging artists through collaborations with established artists and partnerships with organizations and institutions.

ROYAL OAK, Mich. – A well-known children’s gymnastics photographer from Royal Oak was caught with child pornography and admitted to taking pictures of children’s feet at their events for his own pleasure, officials said.
An FBI agent was investigating a peer-to-peer file sharing program last month because it’s known to be a place where predators share child pornography.
While searching the program, he identified a user who had downloaded 14 files of interest to investigators on May 11. Of those files, at least two met the federal definition of child pornography, according to authorities.
On May 23, the agent worked with WOW! cable and traced the user’s IP address back to the Royal Oak home of David Eric Yellen, 58.
Officials said Yellen is a freelance photographer who takes pictures and videos at girls’ gymnastics events. He has received credit and accolades for his work at multiple events over the years, according to a criminal complaint unsealed Friday, June 2.
FBI agents searched Yellen’s home on Thursday, and he admitted to possessing child pornography on his electronic devices, court records show.
Yellen told officials that he used the file sharing program regularly, but denied uploading or downloading child porn. He said he had downloaded child porn 10 years ago and has kept it, but he claimed not to know that those images could be downloaded by others.
“Given his extensive use of (the file sharing program), I do not believe that he was unaware that he had his files in a location that allowed for sharing with others,” the FBI agent wrote in the criminal complaint.
Yellen denied producing child pornography, but said he would often take pictures of children’s bare feet during gymnastic events while working as an official photographer. He would then use those pictures for his own pleasure, the complaint says.
A computer and hard drive at Yellen’s home contained at least 1,500 pictures of children, and at least 500 of them meet the federal definition of child pornography, authorities said.
Among those photos were the original files downloaded on May 11, according to officials.
The hard drive included a folder titled “BFK,” and Yellen admitted that it stood for “barefoot kids,” agents said. There were at least 200 pictures of children’s bare feet in the folder.
The criminal complaint concludes there’s probable cause that Yellen distributed and possessed child pornography.

(Missoula Current) An organization dedicated to promoting Native creativity is launching a six-week online business accelerator program for Native American artists and entrepreneurs from the Salish and Kootenai tribes in Montana.
Creatives Indigenous, organized by the indigenous magazine Native Max, aims to equip participants with essential skills to elevate their businesses to new heights.
“We initiated this program two years ago in the American West, and we are thrilled to extend our support to Montana’s Salish and Kootenai tribes’ artists and entrepreneurs,” said program manager Brenna Ortiz. “Native American groups encounter numerous hurdles and setbacks when it comes to advancing their businesses, and our aim is to provide the necessary support they need to succeed.”
The curriculum includes in-depth exploration and the practical application of topics such as business opportunity analysis, business model development, leadership, team building, and managing cash flow.
It also looks to empower Native American groups by addressing the unique challenges they face in scaling their businesses, according to the organizers.
This year, the program has attracted 26 businesses from Montana. Leading the program is Kelly Holmes, a Native American woman with extensive experience in the media and fashion business.
Holmes said the program’s distinctive feature lies in its strong foundation rooted in Indigenous values.
“I am excited to collaborate with our partners on this program,” Holmes explained. “Our objective is to empower Native creative entrepreneurs, providing them with the confidence, knowledge, and resources necessary to generate revenue, achieve financial success, and ultimately create more employment opportunities within their communities.”
The program will culminate on July 22 with a fair at the SKC campus where participants will showcase their businesses and products. The event also will serve as a platform for entrepreneurs to network, gain exposure and celebrate their achievements.
“What makes our programs unique is how we incorporate and integrate Indigenous knowledge and values into the curriculum,” said Holmes.

Alteryx & Tableau CRO veteran Scott Jones joins as Exec Chair; Marge Breya moves up to President; David Gai becomes COO
AUSTIN, Texas, June 5, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — Today at the Forrester B2B Summit, Leadspace, the leading B2B revenue automation company, announced Revenue Radar. Revenue Radar is the industry’s first revenue navigation system to use multi-signal AI targeting to map the fastest route to revenue. Sales and marketing teams can now minimize spend and maximize revenue by proactively targeting the accounts and people with the highest likelihood to buy. LeadspaceTM also appointed Scott Jones, Marge Breya and David Gai as its new executive team to accelerate innovation and seize category leadership. The moves are intended to fuel the company’s next stage of growth in revenue automation, one of the hottest revenue AI markets.
“We are delighted to welcome Scott Jones as our executive chairman, Marge Breya as our new president, and David Gai as COO,” said Erel Margalit, Chairman of JVP and Leadspace. “As veterans in the AI/BI space, this team of experts are in a truly great position to spearhead the Leadspace Drive platform and revolutionize the world of revenue generation from an art to a science. Leadspace identifies your most relevant customers, the profile of the people that can buy your product and the buying team around them. Its revenue AI produces the best roadmap to reach your next quarter, or next year’s revenue growth. It’s all about targeting the relevant customers and the relevant people in the right organizations.”
Revenue Radar. The quickest route to Revenue.
“More than 5 million sales people and $25B of marketing programs are aimed at driving B2B revenue – and they need a map,” stated Marge Breya, President of Leadspace. “Google Maps revolutionized the way we travel efficiently every day. Revenue Radar and our four-signal AI targeting is the revenue navigation system that will change the game in revenue generation.”
Revenue RadarTM applies four-signal AI targeting to narrow the target by focusing on companies with a 2X, 6X or even 12X chance of closing. As a result, sales and marketing teams understand exactly which accounts are likely to buy their product, who are the best contacts within those accounts, and who is showing interest and timing this week or month. While basic or advanced profiling tools populate profiles with various types of firmographics and technographics such as company revenue, size, industry, sub-industry, region ownership, website and installed base technologies, Revenue Radar analyzes them as buying signals to generate algorithmic insights so sales and marketing can focus on closeable business. Available in the Leadspace Studio or integrated into popular CRM systems like Salesforce and Marketo, Revenue Radar makes campaign targeting easy with buying propensity, intent, persona and engagement signals.
The Leadspace Drive Platform takes revenue operations across sales and marketing to the next level by determining which buying centers, accounts and people to focus on based on likelihood to buy. As a result, Sales operational teams can create equitable territories and account plans based on TAM (Total Addressable Market) opportunity profiling. Marketing teams can create intelligent ABM campaign segments tuned by territory and activated across the most popular digital platforms. HG Insights cites that, “Companies that purchased AI-assisted sales tools to improve their customer experience—and their revenue operations—saw the greatest new revenue lift, while slow adopters suffered as a result.”

People—especially young women—are almost always expected to smile when posing for photographs. However, a photographer named Brooke Light thinks differently. For her, when kids drop their masks and forget what they are doing is when their true, powerful selves come out. And this is what has been making her latest viral video grab eyeballs across social media platforms.
It begins with the overlay text, “When your photoshoots allow girls to show up, take up space and not smile if they don’t want to.” Light can be seen holding her camera before the video goes through a sequence of her exceptional black-and-white photographs of young girls looking visibly comfortable and confident in their own skin. While some look into the camera and some away, none of the youngsters seem to be posing. Instead, they look completely in their element and that’s what makes these pictures so unique.

The video has garnered about 959k views and is captioned, “Never underestimate the power of a photoshoot for your kid’s confidence.” People in the comments section were mesmerized by the beauty of each picture. @jonileagarcia283 commented, “They look powerful and authentic.” @wherepaulsleeps wrote, “I love how they are not trying to be anything ‘extra’ just their own raw and savage selves.” @writewithmd shared, “I love this so much! I HATED smiling for the photographers and remember thinking they’d never force me. How validating!”

@hippiechick0297 said, “Authenticity is fabulous! Everyone doesn’t always feel like smiling and that’s okay. Beautiful even.” @xo.kilili commented, “Wow this is such a great perspective!! Thanks for the knowledge share!!”

Light started photography when she left college but stopped completely when she moved to Charlotte, Noth Carolina. “I did a few weddings, small publications and family sessions back then. I stopped photography altogether when my husband and I moved to Charlotte, NC. The market here intimidated me. I have no formal photography training so the imposter syndrome was very real,” she told Upworthy.

“Jump to 2020, when I experienced a layoff due to the pandemic and I picked up my camera again for a candle company (Sparta Candle Co., they are popular on TikTok). In 2021 I did my first photo session with my niece in what would become my Moody Mini style,” the photographer added.
When asked what led her to do these shoots in a style that’s generally not seen much in the industry, Light said, “I’ve always been drawn to more dramatic, editorial style photography. When I did that first photoshoot with my niece Ruby, it ignited something in me. Watching her transform on the other side of my lens was so creatively energizing that I knew I needed to pursue this. I had never experienced a kid relaxing into a photoshoot so quickly. She just existed without anything performative and from that, her photos felt like a feeling instead of an image.”

Light couldn’t choose a favorite session from her photography career so far but shared that she has a favorite shot from each one. “There is always this moment where the kid/teen drops the mask and forgets what we are doing. They relax into the photoshoot and those moments are everything for me. We always get the shot then. I haven’t had a session yet where we don’t have that moment and I always know it immediately. A lot of the photos I share on my TikToks are examples of those moments,” said Light.

2023 Fast Company Most Innovative Company will partner with clients on emerging tech including AI, NFTs, Web3, and pioneer breakthrough platforms and content
NEW YORK and PORTLAND, Ore., June 5, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — Stagwell’s (NASDAQ: STGW) Instrument – a multidisciplinary creative company that redefines brands and experiences – today announced the launch of two new core service offerings: content innovation and experience innovation, led by Paul Welch and Mike Creighton, executive directors at Instrument, respectively. These units will work with existing and prospective clients to unleash innovation at scale across partners’ content, digital experiences, and technology infrastructure.
The newly launched disciplines fuse full-funnel brand marketing strategy with the cutting edge of technology and content innovation:
Experience Innovation, led by Mike Creighton, Executive Director at Instrument, works to weave emerging technologies through all of Instrument’s offerings, helping its partners across every sector avoid riding hype cycles on emerging technology and effectively experiment with trends like artificial intelligence (AI), web3, the metaverse, gaming, and XR to find the innovation that sustains long term growth. Learn how Instrument’s experience innovation disciplines is helping clients responsibly integrate generative AI here.
“Brands are ecosystems which interact with people millions of times every day: emerging technology reveals new opportunities for brands to engage with consumers by creating new experiences on nascent channels, media, and capabilities,” said Mike Creighton. “AI, web3, the metaverse, gaming, XR — they all represent potential opportunities. To navigate them and find what’s right for our clients, we avoid riding hype cycles. We make certain that “yes” is the answer to these three questions: Is it appropriate for the brand? Does it provide value to the consumer? Is it a growth opportunity for the company? It’s about going beyond what’s working now and always considering what’s coming next.”
Content Innovation, led by Paul Welch, Executive Director at Instrument, develops new methods and tactics to produce authentic stories across all platforms. That involves making content that sometimes looks different than a traditional production or maximizing every shoot to capture content at that can be leveraged across multiple brand touchpoints, as seen in the work Instrument conducted for Nike to create a five-episode series, “Ultra Sound,” to serve Black mothers on the ultramarathon that is pregnancy. View that work here.
“At Instrument, we always try to be one step ahead, and what we’re launching now is something we’ve prototyped and tested for quite a while: a content production agency that’s born out of digital behaviors,” said Paul Welch. “Brands have a massive ecosystem to fill at a speed that’s difficult to sustain, but their teams and budgets are often still operating in a traditional commercial model. We are the solution to this.”
Instrument’s new service offerings interact with and complement its four award-winning centers of excellence: Creative, Production, Technology and Strategy. In 2023, Fast Company crowned the agency one of the world’s Most Innovative Companies in The World for its work on behalf of the Eames Institute and BankBlackUSA, and in 2022 it was honored across three categories in Fast Company’s Innovation by Design awards.
